Partnership with Africa

As a youth group we have investigated God's heart for his people to demonstrate compassion, generosity and love to those who are sick, poor, homeless and starving.  We seek to be God's hands and feet in a few specific and tangible ways.

30 Hour Famine

We did another 30 Hour Famine event recently and had over 50 students participate.  We collected about 650 cans of non-perishable food items, which we donated to the local community food bank.  We also raised $5112 and that money was donated to World Vision's Starve Hunger Program.  It will feed about 170 children for a month.

Caregivers' Boxes

To date, we have made 37 caregivers' boxes to help fight AIDS.  A caregivers' box is a container of supplies necessary to care for those dying of AIDS and it will be sent to people designated by World Vision to assist in caring for the sick in their community.

Partnership with Arizona Reservation Ministries

At the Indian Reservation near Globe, Arizona, we partner with youth missionaries Tory and Kara Satter.  Each year take students to help build a house for an Apache family in need.  We also participate in their bus ministry, doing various crafts and activities with the children.

Partnership with AMOR

Every year in November members of our church go to Rocky Point, Mexico to help build houses for families without adequate shelter.  This year our students will not only help to build a house, but also help to launch a Los Ninos VBS program.

Partnership with Samaritan's Purse

Around Christmas time we participate in Operation Christmas Child as a youth group. Operation Christmas Child aims to supply the millions of children around the world who are suffering or desperate with a Christmas present. These presents are shoe boxes filled with things like hygiene items, school supplies, and small toys and they provide hope and joy to children in need.

Partnership with WorldVenture in Ukraine

In September of 2009 we sent 13 students and leaders to Ukraine to help Eric Yodis construct a church on top of an abandoned bomb shelter. The Church on the Shelter, being spearheaded by Eric and Beth Yodis, is growing fast and we get to be a small part of it's success! We are currently planning more trips for 2010, so stay tuned for more info! Read about our 2009 Project here!

Rapha House

Right now our tithes and offerings are going towards Rapha House.
Rapha House is a ministry that reaches out to women and children who have been rescued from forced slavery and prostitution.  We learned about this ministry at CIY over the summer and were convicted to give generously that more women and children might come to experience freedom!

In Town Projects

As a youth group we also participate in various service opportunities within our own community, such as Serve Vail, Make a Difference Day and Project Feed.
