Partnership with Africa

As a youth group we have investigated God's heart for his people to demonstrate compassion, generosity and love to those who are sick, poor, homeless and starving.  We seek to be God's hands and feet in a few specific and tangible ways.

30 Hour Famine

We did another 30 Hour Famine event recently and had over 50 students participate.  We collected about 650 cans of non-perishable food items, which we donated to the local community food bank.  We also raised $5112 and that money was donated to World Vision's Starve Hunger Program.  It will feed about 170 children for a month.

Partnership with AMOR

We have taken multiple trips to Rocky Point, Mexico to help build houses for families without adequate shelter. This year our students will participate in a trip to the Apache Indian Reservation to help build homes.

Commitment to the Apache Indian Reservation in Globe, AZ

It's crazy to think that right here in the state of Arizona, there are people living in extreme poverty. On our most recent trip, 18 students and a few adult leaders helped to build a house for a family in need, repainted another family's home, and led a Vacation Bible School program for local children.

Partnership with Samaritan's Purse

Around Christmas time we participate in Operation Christmas Child as a youth group. Operation Christmas Child aims to supply the millions of children around the world who are suffering or desperate with a Christmas present. These presents are shoe boxes filled with things like hygiene items, school supplies, and small toys and they provide hope and joy to children in need.

Partnership with WorldVenture in Ukraine

So far our youth group has taken two trips to Ukraine; we have helped to build a church on top of an abandoned bomb shelter. The Church on the Shelter, being spearheaded by Eric and Beth Yodis, is now complete and a small congregation meets there every Sunday.

Rapha House

Right now our tithes and offerings are going towards Rapha House.
Rapha House is a ministry that reaches out to women and children who have been rescued from forced slavery and prostitution.  We learned about this ministry at CIY over the summer and were convicted to give generously that more women and children might come to experience freedom!

In Town Projects

As a youth group we also participate in various service opportunities within our own community, such as Serve Vail, Make a Difference Day and Project Feed.
